The FMS test is an internationally recognized tool developed and researched in the United States by Functional Movement Systems. Used extensively across Europe and Australia for rehabilitation and general fitness clients as well as with high performance athletes, this screen demonstrates easily to your clients the need for specific work on movement imbalances and muscular asymmetries in the body. The FMS test can easily point to innovative corrective strategies that can be used with your clients to correct these imbalances and asymmetries as part of their exercise program with your guidance. This course is a fantastic introduction of your expertise as you start working with your clients as it quickly identify areas of the body that require further assessment. This introduction is a logical start to our range of clinically focused courses.
In FMS Level 1 you will learn how to:
- Conduct baseline movement screening to identify functional limitations and asymmetries
- Learn introductory exercises to begin the restoration of proper movement patterns
- Progress these patterns to build your clients’ endurance safely prior to working on more general strength training exercises
